The Juiciest Melocotón is an experimental and playful visual identity project that explores the intersection of various media, including photography, graphic design, illustration, and motion graphics. Entirely self-produced, this project served as a way for me to practice multimedia design and art direction while pushing creative boundaries. I intentionally aimed for an unconventional and provocative approach, moving away from the constraints of traditional commercial projects.
The word “melocotón,” meaning "peach" in Spanish (one of my native languages), became the starting point for this playful exploration. The project began with a simple idea: designing a peach fruit label and placing it on a cheeky backdrop—a playful reference to the peach emoji often used as a symbol for the human butt. This sparked thoughts about how we use emojis to represent taboo subjects, leading to deeper conceptual exploration.
From this initial image, the project evolved and expanded organically. I cropped out the shape of the "butt-peach" from the photos and transformed it into a motion graphic animation. One of the key ideas was to illustrate a shopping cart filled with peach-butts and a hand reaching for one—tying into the idea of consumerism, summer fruits, and the lighthearted nature of the peach emoji. Given that peaches are associated with summer, and I was working on this project during the season, it felt fitting to title the project The Taste of Summer.
I also experimented with different peach label designs, incorporating the trend of fruit label aesthetics that has gained popularity in the graphic design community. My goal was to add a fresh twist to this trend while ensuring it fit within the playful and bold concept of the project.
Overall, The Juiciest Melocotón succeeded in bringing together multiple media under a cohesive and distinctive style. The result is a bold and innovative concept that could easily be adapted into a visual identity for a brand looking to embrace a fresh, fun, and provocative tone.
